3 Day Tour Gold and Ghost Towns Discover the gold mining history and ghost towns of the famous Kennedy District. Take a walk back in hsitory from the early 1860's to the present day. Follow the diggers trail from Townsville through Thorntons Gap, across the mighty Burdekin river (water depth permitting- it is usually just 100-200 mm). Continue along the digger's trail to the Midas mine and Lolworth Diggings.
